Introduction
AwareFlow™ is private by design. This policy explains what we (SnapHabit LLC) do — and don’t do — with data when you use our iOS app and this website.
Core Principles
- No selling or sharing of personal data — ever.
- No ads and no cross-app tracking.
- On-device processing for habit detection; audio never leaves your device.
- Consent first for every permission, requested just-in-time.
App Permissions & Why We Ask
All permissions are optional. iOS will show a system prompt and you can change your choices anytime in Settings.
- 🎤 Microphone — used to recognize short sound patterns (e.g., sniff, throat clear) on device to help build healthier habits. No audio is recorded, saved, or transmitted.
- 🖼️ Photos — read access only when you pick an image to share/customize; add-only when you export and save an image from AwareFlow. We never scan your library.
- 🧲 Bluetooth — only if you connect supported audio accessories to improve detection quality. Not used for proximity tracking.
- 🔒 Face ID — optional “App Lock” so you can quickly unlock AwareFlow securely.
- 🏃 Motion — device context (e.g., pocket vs. desk) to improve detection accuracy. No movement history is uploaded.
- 👥 Contacts — lets you choose people to share progress with or invite; contacts never leave your device without your explicit action.
- 📅 Calendars — used to time nudges on less-busy days/times. Details stay on device. Supports iOS 17+ “Full Access” where required.
- 📍 Location (When In Use) — optional; used to contextualize local weather/time windows for insights. Processed on device; not sent off device.
- 🗣️ Siri — allows hands-free start/stop or quick logging if you enable it.
- 🔴 Live Activities — optional glanceable status on your Lock Screen; no third-party sharing.
- 🔔 Notifications — supportive reminders you enable; no marketing pushes.
Tip: You can review or change any permission in Settings → AwareFlow.
Apple Privacy Manifest (iOS)
We declare the system APIs we access and why. AwareFlow’s manifest indicates:
- No tracking:
NSPrivacyTracking = false
,NSPrivacyTrackingDomains = []
. - Accessed API categories and reasons:
- UserDefaults —
CA92.1
(store app settings/preferences) - Disk space —
E174.1
(ensure safe saving when exporting) - File timestamps —
C617.1
(validate cache freshness) - System boot time —
35F9.1
(measure intervals; not for tracking) - Active keyboard —
3B52.1
(adapt UI for alternate keyboards)
- UserDefaults —
We also declare background task identifiers and categories such as audio/processing/fetch, and mark that the app does not use non-exempt encryption beyond standard platform safeguards.
What Data We Store
- On your device: your settings, optional notes/reflections, optional exported images, and lightweight app metrics for timing nudges.
- Not stored by us: raw audio, your photo library contents, your contacts, calendar event contents, or precise location history.
- When you share/export: you control the destination (e.g., saving an image to Photos, sharing via iOS share sheet).
Website Data
We aim to minimize collection on this site. We do not run ad beacons, remarketing pixels, or cross-site trackers. We do not use Google Analytics here.
The site may use strictly necessary cookies (e.g., for PWA install). We do not use cookies to profile or track you.
Crash & Performance
We are not currently using third-party analytics. If we add privacy-respecting crash or performance telemetry in the future, it will be:
- Opt-in or clearly disclosed,
- Configured to avoid personal identifiers, and
- Never to include audio content or your notes.
Any change will be reflected both in-app and on this page.
Data Retention & Deletion
App data (like optional notes you choose to save) lives on your device. Deleting the app removes this data unless you exported it elsewhere. You may also delete in-app content at any time.
Your Rights
If any personal information is ever collected or becomes associated with you, you may request access or deletion by emailing [email protected]. We’ll respond promptly and honor valid requests.
Depending on your region, you may have additional rights under local law (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, GDPR). Contact us and we’ll help.
Children
AwareFlow™ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. Because detection runs on-device and audio is not uploaded, exposure risk is minimized by design. You can add an extra layer by enabling the optional Face ID “App Lock.”
Changes to This Policy
We’ll update this page if our practices change. Significant changes will be clearly noted with an effective date.
Effective date: 2025-09-17
